WE TOOK A LIL LOOK INTO A DAY IN THE LIFE OF SHOEGAZE GEMS LEMONDAZE
Lemondaze have been quietly honing their identity through relentless gigging, sonic exploration, and a firm commitment to their values. Their music moves between ferocity and fluidity, isolation and full-throttle noise — and their signing to Venn Records signals a bold step forward, aligning them with a label renowned for breaking some of the UK’s most innovative punk, hardcore, and alt-rock acts, including High Vis, Meryl Streek and Bob Vylan.
Rooted in shoegaze and post-rock but unafraid to pull from breakbeat, grunge, or pop structures, the band have earned praise from Miki Berenyi (Lush) and Andy Bell (Ride), and have shared stages with Ride, bdrmm, Just Mustard, deathcrash, Fat Dog and more.
With upcoming EP subtext, Lemondaze step firmly into the spotlight. Their first new music since 2021 serves as both a re-introduction and a reclamation. As the band put it: “This is Lemondaze at our rawest and most pure. A single brain cell shared.”
We’ve got loading the car to a fine art now, thanks to years of training on Tetris. We’re a small band, but we travel with a lot of gear. (We’ve definitely never forgotten anything, we promise!)
Doing some signings for our upcoming EP vinyl release, then onto finishing getting ready for the show. In this case, finishing our costumes and makeup, as this is our yearly Halloween show.
This is us getting our new track “polari” played on the radio for the first time. Always so surreal to have something you’ve made played for so many to hear.
