ANIQO SHARES NEW SINGLE ‘THE TURN’
Berlin and Lisbon-based singer-songwriter and visual artist ANIQO returns with new single “THE TURN”, produced by Bill Ryder-Jones and out now via La Double Vie.
Blending dark art pop, spiritual folk and cinematic songwriting, ANIQO’s music explores themes of transformation, devotion and embracing the unknown. On “THE TURN”, she captures the pivotal moment when change becomes unavoidable.
“I’ve often had moments in my life where I thought: I can’t go on like this – something needs to change,” she explains. “For me, ‘THE TURN’ is about the moment after that realisation, when something shifts inside you and you know the next step has to be taken, even if it feels risky.”
Driven by ANIQO’s clear and emotive vocals, the track pairs shimmering guitars with psychedelic textures and sweeping string arrangements. Written on guitar and brought to life with contributions from guitarist Torsten Füchsel, the song gradually builds towards its uplifting refrain: “We are ready, it’s time for The Turn.” Ryder-Jones’ cinematic production adds further depth, elevating the track’s themes of courage, trust and renewal.
At the heart of ANIQO’s work is a distinctive voice framed by tender guitars, orchestral flourishes and understated organ arrangements. Her songs linger in moments of change rather than rushing toward resolution.
