BALDERDASCH RETURNS WITH CONFRONTATIONAL NEW SINGLE ‘HOMOEROTIC’

Irish, London-based experimental pop artist Balderdasch returns with ‘Homoerotic’, a fierce electro-industrial cut following recent single ‘Stillness Gyrating’. Swinging between bravado and raw yearning, the track captures the intensity of a queer rave — sexy, abrasive and unflinchingly confrontational. She also announces a new self-produced EP, Stillness Gyrating, due out February 18.

Drawing from the industrial edge of Kim Gordon, Deli Girls and Nine Inch Nails, ‘Homoerotic’ pushes synths, kick drum and bass to punishing extremes. “We wanted everything as far forward as possible,” she says, crediting Pete Wareham’s mix for bass heavy enough to “shake a club speaker.”

Lyrically, the track explores repression, insecurity and self-reinvention, balancing intentional bravado with exposed vulnerability. “It had to feel sexy, but with desperation underneath. It’s about performing confidence while pushing through your own inhibitions to forge a new sense of self and sensuality.”
