IRIS CALTWAIT UNVEILS NEW SINGLE ‘SERPENTINE’ AHEAD OF DEBUT ALBUM

Norwegian alt-pop auteur Iris Caltwait has released her new single “Serpentine”, taken from forthcoming album Again, for the first time, out November 7 via 777 Music.

The record marks her first under the Caltwait moniker, previously known simply as iris. “A lot of the songs are about trying to reconnect to the child I was and the person I want to be,” she explains.

On “Serpentine”, Caltwait confronts anger and loss, drawing from the collapse of a friendship two years ago. “When I was little, I wasn’t afraid to get angry. Now I’ve had to relearn getting mad, and reconnect with indignation.” she says.

The track offers a poised, timeless pop sensibility, part of a wider album that explores grief, betrayal, and the slow process of rebuilding. Again, for the first time captures a period of emotional disorientation without offering easy resolutions.

“Serpentine” follows earlier previews including “rodeo”, “Spring Rush (a hot platonic subatomic crush)”, “i’m in the corner, alone” and “these are hard times (Say the Words!).”
