LUCAS ASSAGBA RELEASES NEW SINGLE “NOSEBLEEDS”

Rising alternative artist Lucas Assagba (she/her) returns with Nosebleeds, a raw and cathartic single that charts the emotional aftershocks of post-traumatic stress. Beginning with a stripped-back guitar line, the track crescendos into a full-bodied sonic release, echoing the introspective power of Mitski and Lucy Dacus with the restless energy of Alvvays and Miya Folick.

“Sometimes, songs just fall out of the sky and into your lap, and this was one of those times. It felt like months of stress and tears collapsed into one moment. I was coming out of a strange place, struggling to understand how the last six months had shaped me. The song became about the changing of the seasons—and how that change shapes us too.”

Nosebleeds follows her genre-defying debut EP the Resolution, which explored joy within sorrow. Its follow-up, What more could I ask you to do, shifts focus to the quiet ache of reclaiming stability.

After opening for Jasmine 4.t in Manchester and Fantasy of a Broken Heart at Leeds’ Hyde Park Book Club, Lucas Assagba is proving herself one to watch. With momentum building, her next project is already drawing serious attention.
