CHLOE SLATER RETURNS WITH FEARLESS NEW SINGLE ‘WAR CRIMES’
Following a breakout year that saw two sold-out headline tours — including her Choose A Life Tour in partnership with War Child — and widespread critical acclaim, Chloe Slater returns today with her new single “War Crimes.”
Raw and unflinching, “War Crimes” reaffirms Slater’s blend of personal truth and political conviction. The track confronts the ongoing genocide of Palestinians and the UK government’s complicity, pairing jagged guitars and hypnotic basslines with Slater’s impassioned vocals. Simmering with quiet fury before erupting into catharsis, it’s both lament and rallying cry — a protest song demanding awareness over apathy.
“‘War Crimes’ feels like the first real protest song I’ve ever written — an evolution of my sound. It’s an ode to those who feel betrayed by a Labour government that’s drifted right under Keir Starmer. Watching the genocide unfold and seeing our leaders enable it left me feeling helpless — this song channels that emotion.”
The single’s artwork, created by Palestinian artist Ahmed Al Da’alsa, documents life in Gaza under occupation. “It’s vital to champion Palestinian artists and let their stories be told through their own words and art,” Slater adds.
To support Ahmed and his family, Slater is releasing limited-edition t-shirts and tote bags featuring his artwork, with all profits donated to their GoFundMe campaign to help them relocate to safety in Egypt.
