FRANCES MISTRY RELEASES REFLECTIVE NEW SINGLE ‘DO I BELONG HERE?’
Emerging UK indie-folk artist Frances Mistry unveils her latest single Do I Belong Here?, a tender, acoustic-led track that further cements her as one to watch in the rising folk scene. Built around delicate fingerstyle guitar and shimmering melodies, the song offers a poetic meditation on belonging and the spaces—and people—that help us feel at home.
“Do I Belong Here? is a stripped-back song where I just wanted the music to speak for itself,” Mistry shares. “It reflects my mindset at the time—lots of reflection and negative feelings tied to places I once loved. I also wanted it to capture the essence of Brighton and being by the sea. Thankfully, I’ve now found where I belong, and those places hold new, positive memories.”
Echoing the intimate, emotionally resonant folk of artists like The Army, The Navy, the single radiates vulnerability and lyrical warmth. It marks the next chapter in Mistry’s forthcoming debut EP, set for release this spring.
The new track follows Something Has to Give, which landed on Spotify’s Fresh Finds Folk playlist and earned praise from indie tastemakers drawn to Mistry’s heartfelt songwriting and quiet call for change.
With a hometown slot at The Great Escape in Brighton this May and her debut EP on the horizon, Frances Mistry is steadily making her mark. Soft-spoken but assured, she’s crafting a space for herself in the indie-folk world—one reflective, resonant song at a time.
