JASMINE.4.T RELEASES ‘I CAN’T BELIEVE I DID THIS WITHOUT YOU’
Manchester singer-songwriter jasmine.4.t has announced a deluxe edition of her debut album You Are The Morning, out Friday (Sept 12) via Saddest Factory Records. You Are The Morning (YBT Deluxe) includes five new tracks and is dedicated to Jasmine’s friend, political prisoner Yulia Trot. The announcement comes alongside a new single, I Can’t Believe I Did This Without You.
The original album, released in January and produced by Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus, marked Jasmine as the first UK artist signed to Bridgers’ label. A trans woman, Jasmine has described the record as a tribute to queer friendship, which she says “saved my life.”
In a statement, she recalled meeting Yulia at her first queer event, their years of mutual support, and touring together—Yulia often acting as roadie and selling handmade bracelets for Trans Mutual Aid Manchester. In November 2024, Yulia was arrested during a police raid, alleged to be among the “Filton 24” connected to an action targeting Israeli weapons manufacturer Elbit Systems.
Jasmine also described the abuse and neglect Yulia faces as a trans woman in prison, calling the daily conditions “wearing her down to the point where she thinks she is no longer herself.”
"Now when I sing these songs, I am singing them to my best friend, my mother, my sister, my daughter - the political prisoner Yulia Trot. Of all the things that I have lived through, nothing has felt as big as losing her. I hope that one day she will be able to hear these recordings. I hope that one day she, all of her co-defendants, and all of Palestine, will be free."
