NADIA KADEK ANNOUNCES DEBUT EP ‘GREEN CAR’, SHARES NEW SINGLE
British-Indonesian artist Nadia Kadek has announced her debut EP, Green Car, set for release on 17 October via Transgressive Records. To mark the announcement, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter has unveiled new single Always Almost Losing You, a crystalline, indie-folk track layered with restrained production and escalating emotional intensity.
Kadek describes the song as “emotionally charged, a mix of frustration and anger masking sadness for a friend,” exploring the way deep love can bring deep worry. Recorded between Oxfordshire’s Hook Studios and Studio 13 with producers Riccardo Damian (Sampha, Jorja Smith) and Jamie Biles (Isaac Gracie), Green Car spans five tracks — including previous singles Feeling It All and Lemonade.
“I needed it to feel like it was breathing life, and that there’s somebody in the room with you when you’re listening. I wanted to keep the intimacy of acoustic demos whilst bringing them to life through this combination of live sound with slightly weirder, wonkier atmospherics.”
The EP blends an “organic live sound” with atmospheric textures, capturing themes of nostalgia, strained family ties, fleeting romance and forgiveness. Rejecting the race for online virality, Kadek has built her audience through intimate live shows, a presence that helped secure her signing with Transgressive Records, home to some of today’s most acclaimed and unconventional artists.
