YUNEKI STRIPS POP BACK TO ITS EMOTIONAL CORE ON NEW EP ‘BABY TEETH’
Self-awareness may be a common theme in pop, but few artists embrace it with the unfiltered honesty of Yuneki. The 18-year-old London singer-songwriter today releases Baby Teeth via 23 Recordings — a deeply personal, sonically expansive EP charting her journey through grief, growing pains, and resilience.
The project’s fiery focus track, I Love It, features Coventry’s Shortstraw and marks Yuneki’s boldest sonic turn yet. Written during one of the most turbulent years of her life, Baby Teeth blends vulnerability with strength, pairing honeyed vocals and layered production to connect with a Gen-Z audience navigating similar struggles.
“It felt like every piece of safety and security was pulled out from under me. I was forced to grow up too fast. This EP is me making sense of that shift — about grief, isolation, and losing a version of yourself you didn’t even know you were leaving behind.”
