MINOE RETURNS WITH POWERFUL NEW SINGLE ‘TEENAGE DISILLUSIONMENT’

Nova Scotia-born artist MINOE launches a bold new chapter today with the release of her raw and vulnerable single Teenage Disillusionment.

Reflecting on her difficult upbringing, the Montreal-based singer offers an unflinching look at growing up with an abusive parent. “Teenage Disillusionment is a pretty sensitive song. I’m in a good place now, and it felt like the right time to speak on my past. I’m passionate about advocating for kids who aren’t safe at home, and I want anyone who relates to the lyrics to know they’re not alone.”

MINOE first turned heads in 2023 with her debut EP Bleeding Hearts Disco—a shimmering, empowering blend of pop and disco that quickly earned her a devoted following. She followed up with anthemic singles Jealous, debuted at Osheaga, and Liquorlips, a standout collaboration with fellow Canadian artist Renon.

Her latest work takes a more introspective turn, drawing sonic inspiration from early 2010s “Tumblr sad girl” aesthetics—think Clams Casino, Imogen Heap, and Lykke Li.

Having started writing music at just seven years old as a way to process both a turbulent home life and her queer identity, MINOE now channels those experiences into creating a safe, affirming space through her music. With Teenage Disillusionment, she reveals yet another layer of her artistry—one marked by courage, honesty, and emotional depth.
