TYGERMYLK RELEASES DEFIANT QUEER ANTHEM ‘CONFETTI’
TYGERMYLK (they/them) unleashes a bold new single today with Confetti, a euphoric queer anthem rooted in self-acceptance and emotional freedom.
“This song marks the beginning of me being completely free—gender-wise, sexually and emotionally.”
The track dives into the emotional toll of chasing a version of happiness shaped by small-town expectations and conservative norms. “Confetti explores the pressures of growing up where marriage was expected young and homophobia was constant. I thought love meant house, marriage, dogs, kids… then realised I was chasing something that was never meant for me.”
Floating vocals and cinematic production unravel the internal conflict of being socialised to follow a path that never fit. “I don’t think I would’ve got married if it hadn’t been for the patriarchy convincing me that was the end goal,” they added, citing inspiration from Dolly Alderton’s Everything I Know About Love.
Confetti is the first taste of their upcoming debut album Local Girl, Always Tired, due later this year. Shaped by personal battles—including multiple throat surgeries and chronic illness—the album promises dreamy indie-pop laced with grit, honesty and a fierce dedication to LGBTQIA+ and disability advocacy.
