ROBIN KESTER SHARES FINAL PREVIEW OF ‘DARK SKY RESERVE’ WITH NEW SINGLE ‘PERSPECTIVE’
Dutch alt-rock artist Robin Kester has unveiled Perspective, the fifth and final single ahead of her forthcoming LP Dark Sky Reserve, out September 12 via Memphis Industries.
Described by Kester as both “sinister” and hopeful, the track reflects on revisiting the past, accepting its fleeting truths, and emerging stronger. “You need to go to a dark place first to get that kind of perspective,” she says.
Recorded in Bristol with producer Ali Chant (PJ Harvey, Perfume Genius, Yard Act), Dark Sky Reserve marks Kester’s most focused work yet—layered and human, yet lyrically minimalist. The album, she explains, serves as a soundtrack to thoughts that surface in moments of stillness.
On Perspective, Kester sought an “otherworldly, underwater vibe,” evoking the drifting state before sleep. “It’s about the pull between surrendering to the flow and holding on—realizing it’s just a matter of perspective to find understanding.”
