FLORA HIBBERD SHARES POETIC NEW SINGLE ‘SHELLEY’
London-born, Paris-based artist Flora Hibberd has shared ‘Shelley’, the latest single from her forthcoming sophomore album Mammoth, due for release on 16 October 2026. Built around lush minor-key chord progressions, the track blends country-folk and indie influences, with pedal steel from Stew Crookes (The Weather Station) and rich harmonies between Hibberd and backing vocalist J.E. Sunde. Hibberd describes it as “a song for the Shelley in your life, or Duvall, or Percy Bysshe… a boxing match around the kitchen table. Lush country in the creepy sense.”
Drawing on poetic references while remaining emotionally immediate, ‘Shelley’ highlights Hibberd’s distinctive songwriting, balancing vivid imagination with striking intimacy. The accompanying video was filmed in Paris and beyond “in summer with the pals.”
The release follows previous singles ‘Ache’, featuring vocals from Sufjan Stevens, and the album’s title track ‘Mammoth’. Produced by Ben Lanz (The National, Beirut), the new material sees Hibberd expand her sound, pairing folk roots with art-rock ambition, alt-pop textures and adventurous arrangements.
