RUNO PLUM RELEASES DEBUT LP ‘PATCHING’

Minneapolis singer-songwriter runo plum releases her debut LP patching, a project that solidifies the steady momentum she’s built since the pandemic through a string of self-released singles and EPs. Those early tracks earned her support slots with Angel Olsen, Searows and Hovvdy, the latter of whom she recently collaborated with.

The album includes the new track “Be Gentle With Me,” which runo describes as capturing the thrill and fear of learning to love again. “When you start to feel love again after being so hurt for so long, ahh! It feels so good but…it’s vulnerable and scary. The anxious/avoidant attachment cycle is being tested and put to work again.” She credits collaborator Lutalo with amplifying the song’s tension through drums, guitars, and an aching outro she finished with layered harmonies.

On patching, runo plum isn’t just healing—she’s transforming. The intimate debut charts the contraction and release of emotional repair in soft-edged, glowing indie rock. Sparked by a breakup and its aftermath, the record drifts between longing, anxiety, fleeting joy, closure, and the tentative promise of new love.

Each song presses on the same tender core, gently working to soothe the aches of loss and unease. With runo’s warm vocals and candid writing as its guide, patching becomes a homegrown salve—an act of creation as much as restoration, much like the hand-painted butterfly that graces its cover.
