TYGERMYLK UNVEILS DEBUT ALBUM ‘LOCAL GIRL, ALWAYS TIRED’

TYGERMYLK (they/them) has unveiled their long-awaited debut album Local Girl, Always Tired, ahead of a launch show on 19 November at St Pancras Old Church.

A decade in the making, the record charts a powerful coming-of-age journey shaped by love, loss, grief, resilience, and their advocacy for LGBTQIA+ rights and disability inclusion. It captures the experiences that have defined TYGERMYLK’s life and identity.

The focus track, also titled Local Girl, Always Tired, reflects on their return to their hometown during the pandemic—a place offering familiarity and support, yet lacking diversity and representation.

“Just before the first lockdown, I had a breakdown. I left London completely burnt out and moved back in with my parents. Then covid triggered a relapse of the chronic illness I’ve dealt with since my teens. I’d been badly bullied growing up, and suddenly I was back in the place that had caused so much trauma.

“[Local Girl, Always Tired] is about that feeling: being stuck in a small town that doesn’t align with who you are, dreaming of a bigger life, aching to escape.”
