YUNEKI LAYS BARE HEARTBREAK IN STIRRING NEW SINGLE ‘WITHOUT YOU’
The best pop cuts deep—and rising artist Yuneki does just that with her raw new single Without You, out now.
Fresh from opening for Good Neighbours at their sold-out Portsmouth show and appearing in 10 Foot’s Big Issue takeover, Yuneki continues her breakout year with a track that captures the jagged, uncertain space heartbreak leaves behind.
A leap forward from the stripped-back sound of her debut EP, Without You dives into richer, more textured territory. Co-written with Nosa Apollo and Naila, and produced by Apollo, the track lays bare the emotional wreckage of losing yourself in love. “I wrote ‘Without You’ two days after a breakup,” Yuneki shares. “It’s about not knowing who I was without him—not trusting myself not to go back—and feeling stuck in a cycle of being scared to leave and scared to stay.”
Raised in Cambridge on a genre-blending diet of pop, R&B and soul—from Lauryn Hill and Erykah Badu to Lady Gaga and Beyoncé—Yuneki began writing lyrics at 11 and was in studio sessions by 14. Her vulnerability and lyrical sharpness were on full display with debut single Like Honey, which helped her secure a deal with 23 Recordings, a new label under ADA & Atlantic Records, known for championing alternative voices.
Whether she’s unpacking relationships, mental health, or the messiness in between, Yuneki is unapologetically herself—and that’s exactly what makes her stand out.
