SOCCER MOMMY ANNOUNCES ‘EVERGREEN (STRIPPED)’ EP WITH NEW TRACK ‘SHE IS’
Soccer Mommy — the project of Nashville singer-songwriter Sophie Allison — has announced Evergreen (stripped), a new EP set for release on June 6. The news arrives alongside a new track, “She Is (stripped),” accompanied by visuals from director Justin Banh.
The EP follows last October’s Evergreen, which drew critical acclaim for its cinematic, emotionally raw take on Allison’s signature sound. Earlier this year, she previewed the stripped-down direction with a pared-back version of fan favorite “Driver” and a stunning performance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!
“She Is,” which didn’t make the final Evergreen album, holds special meaning for Allison. “I think the stripped version does it justice while staying close to the demo. The new EP embraces the vulnerability at the heart of her songwriting, harkening back to her roots as a solo acoustic performer while casting the songs in a lush, organic light.
Soccer Mommy is currently touring the UK and Europe, following a North American leg. She’s also announced a second North American run, including a major September date at NYC’s Central Park SummerStage, with additional stops in Australia and Asia later this year.
