ALICE COSTELLOE RETURNS WITH NEW TRACK ‘IF I COULD REACH YOU’
London singer-songwriter Alice Costelloe has released her new single If I Could Reach You, out now via Moshi Moshi Records, following its premiere on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6 Music show.
A meditation on distance and longing, the track reimagines the love song as an ode to absence. “The song came from that feeling of trying to connect with someone who was always just out of reach. Mike and I even layered in the sound of a New Zealand busy tone as a kind of sonic metaphor. It’s funny and devastating at the same time.”
With its delicate production and poetic restraint, If I Could Reach You further cements Costelloe as one of the UK’s most distinctive emerging voices in art-pop.
